Privacy information

What data do we store, why do we store it and how is it secured?

First of all:

Security and data safety is important to us. Also the privacy of our users. That is why we try to store as little data as possible to operate our service.

What data do we store and why?

  • The server ID in which the bot is used.
    • To save server wide configurations like language.
  • The message content and message id of the messages that are sticked to the channel.
    • To recreate the message at the bottom of the chat.
  • The channel ID of the sticky messages
    • To know to which channel the bot should listen to.
  • The user ID of the users that voted
    • To know which users voted for which choice. (Only for polls)

We do not store any user specific data apart from your Discord user ID when you vote for a poll.

How do we use the data?

We use this data to:

  • Translate the bot info/error print messages to your selected language.
  • Recreate the message at the bottom of the chat.
  • Show how much votes a choice has on a poll.

How do we store your data?

We store the data on a server in Frankfurt. Authentication to the server is only allowed via SSH-Key.
The data itself is stored in a password protected database.

Can I delete my data?

Sure!

If you are owner of the server and you want all data to be deleted (sticky messages, polls, server settings, etc.) you have the following options:

  • Everything: Kick the bot from the server. This will remove all stored data for that server (All sticky messages, all polls and the server configurations like language)
  • Only sticky messages: Use the /sticky remove or /sticky unstick command. Both commands will remove the sticked message from the bots database. sticky remove will, in addition, also remove the message from the Discord channel
  • Only polls: Use the /poll delete command. This will remove the poll from the database.
  • Additional: You can also write me an email (with proof that you are the server owner) and I can manually delete the data. This is effectively the same as kicking the bot from the server. *

If you are a user, we only store your user ID if you vote for a poll. Once the poll is deleted, your data is as well.
Note: Polls are deleted from the database automatically 30 days after the end of the poll
If you don't want to wait that long, you have the following options:

  • Remove the vote from the poll by pressing the same button again.
  • Write me an email and I will delete the data. *

* Manual deletion can take up to 7 work days.
